Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats
  • 8oz. (225gm) dark chocolate
  • 4oz. (115gm) butter
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 cup dates
  • 3 cups Rice Krispies (Rice Bubbles)
  1. Melt half chopped chocolate over hot water, spread over base of well-greased 7" (18cm) by 11" (29cm) lamington tin; refrigerate.
  2. Put butter, sugar and dates in saucepan; cook, stirring, until dates are soft. Stir in Rice Krispies, spread mixture over cold, firm chocolate.
  3. Melt remaining chocolate, spread over as a topping; refrigerate until firm. Cut into small squares or fingers.
