Southern Pecan Pie
  • Sugar, 1 cup
  • Corn Syrup, 1½ cups
  • Eggs, 4
  • Butter, ¼ cup
  • Vanilla, 1½ teaspoons
  • Pecans (coarsely broken), 1½ cups
  • Unbaked deep-dish pie shell, 1
  1. For 2-3 minutes, boil the corn syrup and sugar in a saucepan. Set it aside to cool slightly afterward.
  2. Lightly beat the eggs in a large bowl. Gradually, pour the syrup mixture into the eggs and make sure to stir constantly. You may strain the mixture to make it smoother and prevent lump formations.
  3. Stir in the butter, vanilla, and pecans together. Pour mixture into the crust.
  4. Bake the pie in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 to 60 minutes or until the pie is already set.
